The School District of Clayton is seeking an experienced School Plant Worker (custodian). The School Plant Worker performs daily custodial care of the school facility and is responsible for cleaning, safety, and minor maintenance. The successful candidate will work closely with the Head School Plant Worker or supervisor to meet building and District needs.
The Successful Candidate will:
- Perform daily cleaning and general upkeep of floors and carpet care.
- Perform daily housekeeping duties.
- Perform daily cleaning of restrooms.
- Perform routine cleaning of School District buildings.
- Set-up for a variety of building functions, meetings, special events, etc.
- Support and maintain a safe environment at all times.
- Be knowledgeable in the operation of building systems; i.e. HVAC, boilers, fire safety equipment, clocks, electrical apparatus, etc.
- Perform minor building maintenance and repairs as needed.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds is required.
- Perform snow removal, i.e., operate snow blower, shovel walks, and spread chemicals and salt.
Education: High school diploma or equivalent is required.
Experience: 1-3 years job-related experience is required.
